American Museum of Natural History Science Bulletins. Gr. 5-8 Examine "the natural world" via video, photographs, multimedia, and other interactive choices here that cover topics relating to astrophysics, astronomy, biodiversity, and earth science.

Crittercam Chronicles.  Gr. 4-6 Explore animals living in Antarctica, the artic, and the deep sea. Learn about the evolution of "crittercams" and observe habitats from the animals' point of view.

Deep Impact. Gr. 7-10 Get information on the NASA Deep Impact Mission and study a comet.  Videos, photographs, facts and lesson plans are among the choices here.

e-nature: America's Wildlife Resource. Gr. 4-7 Operated by the National Wildlife Federation, this site contains the "sights and sounds" of 5,500 species.  Here as well is a park-finder feature, special options for bird watchers and gardeners, screen savers, contests, quizzes, and e-cards.  Kids can enter their zip code to locate dangerous and poisonous animals native to their area.

Live@Exploratorium. Gr. 4-7 Sponsored by the Children's museum in San Francisco, these Web casts present "live video or audio broadcasts over the Internet." Learn about Einstein's theory of relativity, see views from the Hubble telescope, and celebrate 100 years of physics.  Users need multi media access, ranging from Real Audio and Real Player to Quick Time.

Museum of Science and Industry. Gr. 6-9 Kids can take a virtual tour of the U-505 submarine, learn about genetics via a chick hatchery, and visit a coal mine.  Check out the archives of former exhibits at this premier Chicago museum.

The Physics Classroom. Gr. 9-12 Hosted by Studyworks and aimed at high school physics students, this site links to physics tutorials, a multimedia physics studio, and other resources.  The multimedia physics studio allows students to visualize a range of concepts.

Shedd Aquarium. Gr. 5-8 Visit the "world's largest indoor aquarium" and and explore the oceanarium and wild-reef exhibits. Interactive learning activities, well written FAQs, lesson plans, bilingual fact sheets, and superb photographs abound.

Snow Crystals. Gr. 9-12 Billed as an online guide to snowflakes, snow crystals, and other ice phenomena, this includes tips on making and photographing snowflakes and provides information on the various mathematical forms and physics of snowflakes.

WatchKnow. Gr. Pre-K-12 Educational videos for kids organized by subject.

The Why Files.  Gr. 7-10 This site explores the science behind today's news. A gallery of "cool science images" and interactive options engage learners of all ages.  Check out articles on the science of hurricanes, the recent earthquake in Pakistan, and intelligent design among other topics.
